I told you I would be here with the Christmas songs I need to listen to each December and here I am folks. No one is working. People have taken off to extend their holiday weekend as much as possible. I am here grinding away to make sure you know exactly how to turn up the holiday cheer. As I mentioned in my Christmas movie blog, these are my personal favorites. If you disagree, then you just have poor taste.
All I Want For Christmas Is You
I mean Mariah absolutely murders this song. Her voice is that of an angel. I am such a sucker for a woman that can absolutely belt it. Mariah can do just that and more.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
You know, the 90s really killed it with Christmas music. How come the Backstreet Boys never answered with their version of Run Run Rudolph? Bad look Brian and the gang. Bad look.
Where Are You Christmas
A sneaky, sneaky favorite of mine. Cindy Lou Who holds her own in the movie but Faith Hill puts her to shame. As I said before, I am such a sucker for an angelic voice. The buildup in this song is truly magical. GIVE IT TO ME FAITH!!
It Must Have Been Ol’ Santa Claus
Harry Connick just tells a great story here. Channel your inner child and remember a time when Santa was the one delivering that brand new Playstation.
Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town
This my friends is the greatest Christmas song of all time. There is nothing that even comes remotely close. Am I biased? Absolutely. Bruce Springsteen was the soundtrack to my life growing up. The whole band gets involved. Clarence’s sax solo in the middle makes you feel something below the belt. BRUUUUUUUUUUCE!!!!
I am a fan of Christmas tunes, there are plenty of others that are great in their own right. Christmas songs that are very slow and not upbeat can kick rocks. This is a joyous holiday, give me all the vibes.
