Once upon a time, long, long ago Andrew Luck was a Pro Bowl quarterback. The Indianapolis Colts released Peyton Manning to pave the way for the bearded weirdo out of Washington DC. The Colts looked to be the team that could finally take down the Patriots in the AFC. There was even talk that Andrew Luck would someday be better than Tom Brady.
Well folks, things have changed quite a bit since 2014. On April 10, 2018, I hereby declare the Andrew Luck era officially over. The first #TinTake in Stay Tuned Folks! history is that Andrew Luck’s reign as quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts has ended.
Where did this come from you ask?
News broke yesterday that Andrew Luck still cannot throw a regulation size football. Luck claims there is a timetable but he will not share that with the media…likely story nerd. This is a narrative the public has been hearing for over a year now. Andrew Luck has not played in an NFL game since 2016. He had surgery on his shoulder following the 2016 season and we have not heard from him since. In the beginning of the 2017 season, the Colts informed the public that Luck would be out a few games. This turned into the entire season. Luck then pulled a Jason Street and traveled to Europe to get a second opinion on his surgically repaired shoulder.
The Colts have not really answered any questions regarding Andrew Luck’s future and they continue to either give out false timetables or none at all. It is very suspicious that someone would miss this much time due to a shoulder surgery. I understand that it is very important for this shoulder to be right in order for him to perform at the level that he is used to. The duration of time he has been out makes me think there is much more than a shoulder issue here. The Colts have been hiding something for a while and they don’t want to explain the severity of the situation because they have A LOT of money invested in Mr. Luck.
The Colts have the sixth pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Odds are the top 4 quarterbacks will be gone when they pick. They will have a top pick in the second round and they will select their quarterback of the future in Mason Rudolph. It was fun while it lasted Andrew Luck, at least you are still smarter than all of us.
